During a series of raids in the city of Rosario, 39 people were detained. Additionally, three children in vulnerable situations were found who were being used for drug trafficking. According to the Argentine News Agency, as reported by local media, 69 operations were carried out in the provincial capital, Villa Gobernador Gálvez, and in the neighborhoods of Las Flores and Plata de Rosario. These locations were being investigated by six prosecutors for cases of violence and one homicide. Among the conflicts, a seven-year-old minor was injured. The children found during the operations are seven-year-old twins in one home and an eleven-year-old child in another house used as a drug sales and packaging point. All three were in vulnerable situations and were placed at the disposal of the Secretariat of Childhood. The prosecutor of the Microtrafficking Unit, Franco Carbone, explained: 'There were 3 children in vulnerable situations, one in one home, two in another. It is something we are frequently observing in microtrafficking cases, where drug traffickers take advantage of vulnerable people and minors.' 'They used minors to trade narcotics, they acted as lookouts. We have film sequences of police officers who did fieldwork,' he continued. Finally, Carbone stated that 'these are boys and girls who were with their families dedicated to this activity,' while official sources indicated that the parents of the minors 'are not detained.' Meanwhile, the head of the Regional Prosecutor's Office, Matías Merlo, highlighted the 'coordinated work with provincial and federal forces, so that the facts that are happening can have a more immediate response.' In the raids, 12 firearms of different calibers and ammunition, 1 kilogram of cocaine—both packaged and unpackaged—vehicles, a large number of cell phones, precision scales, and tools for cutting and packaging drugs were seized.
